Samantha Jacobsen
Clinic: Illinois Association of Free and Charitable Clinics
Position: AmeriCorps VISTA Leader
Samantha is passionate about intersectional, compassionate, accessible public health practice. Originally from Schaumburg, Illinois, she graduated from Kalamazoo College in 2021 with her B.A. in Biology, Psychology, and Community and Global health. She completed one AmeriCorps VISTA service year as the Development and Communications VISTA at DuPage Health Coalition, and stayed on with IAFCC to continue building the corps and developing future change-makers. Outside of work, Samantha can be found enjoying the outdoors, trying out a new recipe, or taking care of her plants.

Abby Lambert
Clinic: North Suburban Legal Aid Clinic
Position: Outreach Coordinator VISTA
Abby Lambert is a first-time AmeriCorps VISTA Member and Outreach Coordinator for the Domestic Violence Law Practice. She supports the attorneys and staff with education and outreach projects surrounding domestic violence legal aid. A visit to a local courthouse in high school sparked Abby’s interest in law and a passion for advocacy. She has served as a long-time volunteer with RefugeeOne and has extensive experience working with children and young adults. She was an advocate for victims and survivors of sexual abuse at Indiana University. Abby is the recipient of the Bill Selke Heart of Justice Award in recognition for outstanding effort in service and leadership in the field of Criminal Justice and is a 2023 Founder Scholar. She holds a BA in Criminal Justice and Political Science from Indiana University. Upon completion of the AmeriCorps VISTA program, Abby hopes to attend law school.

Kristin Hobbs

Position: Community Outreach and Clinic Stabilization VISTA
Kristin Hobbs is the Community Outreach and Clinic Stabilization VISTA at Will-Grundy Free Clinics. She is a recent graduate of the University of the People, earning a BS in Health Sciences, with a concentration in epidemiology and human services. Kristin has worked in the south suburbs of Chicago as an early childhood educator and served as a community organizer for the region’s students for over a decade.
